March Ditty

I dashed off this little ditty at this time a year ago. Funny how appropriate it is this week.

My feet need to be free
Of boots Of shoes Of socks
Though it’s forty-eight degrees
Rather than the weekend’s seventy-three
I painted my toe-nails orange cream
And now they scream to be seen
In open-toed strappy sandal flip-flops
At the bottom of legs half-clothed by capris
Topped with a light sweater
Not quite appropriate for the weather
But just fine for my springtime state of mind
